City of Boston Bans Ultimate Fighting Event

Boston City officials have refused to permit an "ultimate fighting" event and are threatening to ban the kicking and punching bouts altogether.  For more click here.

Cheerleader's Assault Claims Can Go Forward

In the case of Prince v. Cablevision, et al, the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York denied a motion to dismiss by the parent company of the New York Rangers seeking to dispens with a former Ranger cheerleader's assault claims against the team's public relations deputy director based on his alleged sexual overtures.

Pippen's Lawyers Turn Attention to Law Firm Recommending Financial Advisor

Scottie Pippen has filed a legal malpractice lawsuit against Katten, Muchen, Zavis and Roseman and one of its attorneys, Sheldon T. Zenner, alleging neglience and conflict of interest for recommending Robert Lunn as a financial advisor.  Pippen has already successfully sued Lunn.

Don King Files King Sized Lawsuit Against ESPN

Boxing promoter Don King filed a $2.5 billion dollar suit against ESPN on January 12, 2005 alleging that he was portrayed in a false light by an ESPN SportsCentury segment aired in May of 2004.  The suit alleges that the program labeled King a "snake oil salesman, a shameless huckster and worse."

Court Refuses to Block the Angels From Adding "Los Angeles" to Team Name

A judge has denied a temporary restraining order the city of Anaheim had sought against MLB's Angels, which announced earlier this week that it would change its name to the "Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim." The city filed a lawsuit against the team Wednesday, January 5th, alleging breach of contract and violation of good faith and fair dealing.

Suit Filed Over Youth Football Players Death

The father of the 15-year-old who died during the football game filed a
suit earlier this week against the South Florida Youth Football League alleging that his son Edwin received no medical care when he collapsed on the field despite the fact that it was apparent he was having trouble breathing. dwin was having trouble breathing.
