Robert ("Rob") R. Hagy, II Esq. is the owner and proprietor of the Law Offices of Rob Hagy, P.C. established in August, 2004 and located just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia in Fluvanna County. Mr. Hagy practices all aspects of Family and Divorce Law in the juvenile and circuit courts of the cities and counties constituting Central Virginia (Charlottesville, Albemarle, Greene, Nelson, Louisa, Fluvanna, Orange, and Buckingham).
Mr. Hagy was born at Fort Leonard Wood, a military base in Missouri, while his father was stationed there during the Vietnam War. He then moved with his parents to Richlands, Virginia: a small town located in Tazewell County in the heart of the coal fields of southwestern Virginia. Both sides of his family came from southwest Virginia. His maternal grandfather was a World War II vet and an entrepeneur-owning furniture stores, hardware stores, and car dealerships. His paternal grandfather was a coal miner and union organizer who in his "spare" time ran a restaurant in the town of Oakwood, Virginia called the "Hagy Diner". While living in Tazewell County, Mr. Hagy attended school and participated in a variety of extracurricular and athletic endeavors in the Tazewell County public school system. His mother, Pauline Hagy, two uncles, an aunt, and two cousins have all taught in public schools. His father, Ralph Hagy, is a dentist who has practiced dentistry for thirty years in Buchanan County, Virginia. Mr. Hagy graduated from Richlands High School in 1989. He then followed the footsteps of his father, a 1966 graduate, and his uncle, Jess Hagy, a 1954 graduate, and attended the University of Virginia. Jess Hagy was the first of the Hagy family to attend college. He attended U.Va. on a football scholorship.
In 1993, Mr. Hagy graduated from the University with a B.A. in History and a minor in the Environmental Sciences. While at Virginia, Mr. Hagy was a member of and eventually president of Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity. He completed his academic career as a member of the Phi Alpha Theta History Academic Honors Society and the Order of Omega. He received his J.D. from George Mason University in 1996. Mr. Hagy was a member of the George Mason Law Review where he served as a Notes Editor in 1996.
Mr. Hagy began practicing in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1998 and came to Fluvanna County in 2002 to practice. He served as the Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for Fluvanna County for two years from 2002 until 2004.
He is a member of the American Bar Association's Section of Family Law, the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, the Domestic Relations Section of the Virginia Bar Association, the Charlottesville Albemarle Bar Association, and the Family Law Section of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association.
He is also a husband and father.
